Father's Day Extra - Just for the birds!

Well, the East Point Sanctuary is an Audubon Area, after all. So why not keep the eyes peeled in case a bird flies by?

I was too gullible not to photograph this dapper fellow

Big lens - little bird - what can I say?

Bird art, anyone?

These guys are everywhere. I think they followed me here from Country Place.

Father's Day Edition - Why Maine??

Got up early this Father's Day morning and headed to East Point Sanctuary. What a gorgeous morning to be in Maine. Not much not to like here. Oh, we were wearing our Vermont Flannel to ward off the nip in the air. Here goes...hope you like 'em...

Folks have gotta live somewhere, I suppose...

...might as well be here...

...or here.

So here's their view.

And if they've got binoculars, this view.

Be it ever so humble...

...there's no place like home!

Don't know why, but this makes me think if lobsters!!!

June 13 - Lighting up the rocky Maine coast

I was kicking around the rocky Maine coast today and I came upon this hot chick just admiring the day. We hooked up and spent the rest of the day together checking out lighthouses and stuff.

Oh...I had the trusty Canon 7D all loaded and ready to go and clean forgot it. So, I had to use the iPhone. Learned that Lightroom lets you shoot lighthouses in the raw - 😲. Here's the result...

Here's the chick I found...

...here's the rocky Maine coast...

...and here's the lighthouses

And here's a few more

June 12 - Saco to me, baby...

Mellow is the word of the day in Saco. Great to see Pam and Nicol again. Their place is as peaceful and serene as we remembered. We're having to relearn how to regulate the nighttime window height regimen; the nights are pretty chilly. More than once I've asked Liz to wake me when the sun is warm. The days are absolutely gorgeous, but Nicol says they are really in need of some rain. Hopefully, Monday may bring just that.

Parts of Maine are like a fairy land. Kennebunk is just such a place. We connected with John and Wanda from back home for lunch at Mable's Lobster Claw. It's one of the Bush's favorite spots. Before lunch we walked along Ocean Ave. Oh, my! I love the architecture up here...enjoy:

If you get a chance...sure could use some letters from home!

June 9 - Vermont in Pictures

We took two days to see Vermont en route to Saco.
Day 1 around Lake Champlain - 121 miles
Day 2 Zig-zagging Vermont - 175 miles
Vermont is quite lovely, but our hearts were understandably still in Kentucky and Lake Placid.
So...here then is a tour of Vermont without commentary. We hope you enjoy!
