June 8 - Bye-bye Beth - we're missing you already!

While the last couple of days driving and sightseeing have been relaxing and enjoyable, we're definitely having a bit of a downer after leaving Lake Placid, Beth and her awesome family and friends. Looking back, it's almost impossible to imagine that we have only known Beth for just over two years. That's right! She just happened to move in next door in Country Place or our paths would never have crossed. Now, two years later, we have been introduced to Lake Placid in a way only available on some kind of VIP tour.

Here's Beth

I feel particularly bad because we had so much fun tooling around Lake Placid, I earned the Bad Blogger Award. I failed to get pictures of Beth's amazing family! It's no wonder she's so cool; her family rules. Of course you are all aware that her 99 year old mom is "Queen" of Lake Placid. So here's a great big Texas THANK YOU to Queen Ruth. And of course there's Nancy, Beth's sister that kept us up to date on all the local gossip and all the best things to see and do. John, Nancy's husband, is a complete Adirondacker. That's a huge compliment, in case you don't know. There ain't much of nothin' that man can't do from mountain climbing to cross country ski racing. He's no slouch when it comes to sports. We met some of Beth's high school and college friends and lots of locals, too. No tourist agency on earth could compete with folks that were born and raised there.

Together we visited a maple syrup farm, cruised Lake Placid, Walked down the Olympic Bobsled Run, hiked the wilderness, met third generation indians in Onchiota, visited her mom's beautiful home, toured her family's farm, ate at all the amazing local restaurants, made many magic margaritas,  laughed and laughed while staying at her gorgeous timber frame cabin and so much more! We can't thank you and you wonderful family enough for your kind generosity and welcoming spirit.

The best place ever for evening fireside chats and laughter

All that's missing is Beth, Liz and cups of coffee

Here's some snaps sweet Beth took for us...
